Brisbane Quarter Comes Alive: Celebrating Brisbane Festival with Art and Flavour

As September approaches, the vibrant city of Brisbane is gearing up for an exhilarating celebration of art, culture, and culinary delights. Brisbane Quarter, located at 300 George Street, is set to be the epicentre of the excitement, with a captivating art installation and an array of delectable themed dishes on offer.

Step into a world of colour and transformation as the internationally renowned artist Hiromi Tango unveils her captivating Hiromi Hotel “YU KA 夢花” (Dream Flower) installation. The heart of Brisbane Quarter, Podium 1, will be transformed into a mesmerising pop-up of oversized golden peony flowers from September 1st to 30th. Inspired by a poem by the ancient Chinese philosopher Zhuang Zi, Hiromi’s installation invites audiences to envision their own metamorphosis, mirroring the symbolic journey of the peony flower in various Asian cultures.

In Japan, the peony holds a deep significance in Buddhist imagery, symbolising qualities of gentleness and compassion. Much like the peony, this installation encourages us to reflect on the transformations within ourselves and the world around us. Hiromi’s vision is to create a space where everyone can explore the concept of transformation and imagination, fostering a sense of connection and wonder.
